Numerous period advertisements from companies such as Colgate, Cream of Wheat, Kellogg's, Toys, Soap, etc. Issues included begin at April 29, 1920 (Vol 94, No. 18) and end at November 4, 1920 (Vol. 94, No.45): 18-2224-4143-45Despite the boilerplate disclaimer below, this lot has no issues below "Good" condition and most are G/VG, VG with some even approaching Near Fine. A very nice lot. SHIPPINGIssues will be stacked and placed in a large plastic sleeve and taped shut. The stack will be boarded by thick pieces of scrap cardboard and shipped in a large padded mailer via USPS Media Mail.YOUTH’S COMPANION LOT BOILERPLATE DESCRIPTION DISCLAIMER:The issues were found in an abandoned house I purchased at auction in the summer of 2021. They were all found, disorganized, in three boxes. Like any newsprint/paper stored for a long time, issues found at the top of the stacks and issues “misaligned” in the stacks are in the worst condition. Given the rather low value of single issues of Youth’s Companion, I cannot give you a description of every issue nor confirm every page is present.Luckily, many of these issues were put into storage folded where the front page/cover was on the inside, protecting the nicest parts from exposure. The condition of individual issues varies, but after sorting the stack the majority are in the "Good" to "G/VG" category if assessing similarly to magazines with consideration for the age. Conservatively 1/10 being are fair/poor. 1/10 are fair/good, with the 4/10 being "Good" and the remaining being G/VG or better. Issues that could make a particular issue fair or poor: tears, brittle edges, soiling, holes, creases (other than original folds), soiling etc. That said, these are 140 year old newspapers; please expect some condition issues. I went through every issue I had in these three boxes, shook off dust, folded it back to original orientation, and put them in order by date/year. Please note that Youth's companion issues from this era (like most newspapers) had an main section and an insert section with additional content. I know from unfolding/folding these back into original orientation that the majority have all the pages, but it is definitely possible I missed some.
