Description: Original WW2 (1942) GERMAN Map of CROATIA with PROVISIONAL BORDERS MARKED It's headed "Nur für den Dienstgebrauch" (equivalent to a "RESTRICTED" British military map). Following the German invasion of Yugoslavia, the 'Independent State of Croatia' was formed and operated under the control of the Axis powers. At the time of its creation, exact borders were not formalised and the process to establish them took several years. Printed in May 1942 more than twelve months after the initial occupation. In great condition with some margin trimming having taken place at some point in its history. From a large collection recently sold off by Edinburgh University - hence ink stamping to margin. (Following both World Wars, the government distributed excess stocks of Allied maps, along with captured enemy examples, to various national institutions such as libraries, museums, universities etc.) Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines. Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, documents, photos etc. PLEASE NOTE - Following BREXIT, items exported from the UK to EU countries may now incur import tariffs on arrival.
