Description: This mesh Santa candy container dates to the 1960s, and features the Mid Century Modern (MCM) styled Santa. He is quite retro, and has some age related flaws. He has some darkening and a few stains (probably from candy) on his mesh, which doesn't have any holes or wear. He was made in Japan, but isn't marked. Most of the mesh, Japan, Santa candy containers are much older, from the 1920's. This fellow, however, is from the 1960s. He is very typical MCM. He is made from layered paper. His head and body are a round cone shape. His accents - eyebrows, mustache and trim, are all chenille. His belt is paper. He is really cute, and displays really well. If you like mid century retro, this fellow is for you!
