Up for your consideration is this FAIRLY LARGE Vintage & NICE Looking 1936 CORONADO TOMBSTONE TWO TONE Wood Cabinet, AM Tube RADIO THAT IS IN WORKING CONDITION BUT SOLD IN AS IS CONDITION. The model number on this Amazing looking radio is 578 & was produced in the Late 1930's era. This was a fairly popular radio when it was introduced & is still a fairly popular & desirable radio by today's standards. THIS VINTAGE NICE LOOKING CORONADO RADIO THAT JUST LOOKS WONDERFUL & IT WORKS. The Wood cabinet on this Beauty has it's Original Finish & looks Good (Not perfect by any means) as there are some scratches & nicks etc.. FOR A RADIO THAT IS 88YRS OLD & IN IT'S ORIGINAL FINISH IT LOOKS PRETTY DARN GOOD:>) This radio has been cleaned & polished which still retains it's original sheen or shine for the most part. I have taken Many Pictures so you may get a good view at this Nice looking Radio. The Round Bakelite bezel around the dial scale is very nice & the GLASS dial scale lens is in nice condition that is clean & clear & the AM DIAL SCALE is SUPER COOL LOOKING with good graphics & working dial light! The 3 Marbled ROSETTE Bakelite control knobs are original & in fantastic looking condition. The Speaker Grill cloth is a in nice condition. THE ANTENNA SYSTEM CONSIST OF A LONG YELLOW WIRE THAT MUST BE STRETCHED OUT IN (1) ONE DIRECTION OR ANOTHER (UP/DOWN/RIGHT/LEFT?) TO RECEIVE THE BEST AM RECEPTION. The chassis is in Great condition & it is a 5-tube unit with 3-controls that are in good working condition. The 3-controls are (from left to right) 1-VOLUME, 2-TUNING & 3rd-ON/OFF. The tube line up is One-6A8, One-6B7, One-42, One-6D6 & One-80. The chassis had has all New Electrolytic Capacitors replaced & paper/wax capacitors were replaced as needed & a nice electric cord was installed. This radio has been restored to good working condition. When this Nice looking CORONADO radio is powered up,it picks up a few AM stations in my area & plays them (ok) but the radio does not play with a hole lot of volume. PLEASE FINISHING READING THE REST OF THE DESCRIPTION. now with all this being said about how nice & SUPER Cool looking this radio looks & it does look "NICE" but it is still a vintage piece of electronics & with all my vintage electronics it is being SOLD IN "AS IS" condition with NO warranty.This "CORONADO" would make an Excellent addition to your radio collection or as a stand alone radio as it's power & beauty will surely be the talk of the room by all whom enter. The "APPROXIMATE" sized of this Fabulous GEM is 14-1/2" High, 11-3/4" Long & 8" Wide/Deep. PLEASE READ BELOW This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology "unlike modern day solid state radios" can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV'S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires above your home, etc... So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. A lot of tube radios are "Directional" meaning you "MAY" have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best reception. Tube radio usually take 30 to 45 seconds after they have been turned/powered ON before they will start playing as the tubes have to warm up.
