Description: Antique SARGENT Mortise Lock DOOR LATCH - 4679 - Brass / Gold Faceplate MEASUREMENTS BELOW Inspected, tested, and lubricated. Complete and in good working order. Features reversible door latch/catch so it can be flipped if the door closes in the opposite direction. These are well made and would make a good replacement mortise lock for any home renovation or restoration. PLEASE NOTE: This is a multi-quantity listing, so you may not receive the exact item seen in photographs, however, they are all in similar condition. Faceplates may be scratched or worn, and there may be some other cosmetic issues such as traces of old paint, but they have all been checked for broken parts, lubricated and are working fine. Faceplate measures precisely 5 1/2” tall and 15/16” wide. It is 5/36” thick (or just a hair over 3/16”). Screw holes are spaced 4 3/4” apart, on center. Knob hole is 2 1/2” from the front of the faceplate. The hole for the knob is 1/4” square. Lock body is 3 1/4” deep including faceplate and 3 1/8” deep not including faceplate. It is 3 11/16 inches tall (3.75” roughly) and 5/8” thick. Can be used to replace the similar Sargent lock that has a deadbolt, though this type is not lockable.
