Description: This antique leather boxing helmet from Everlast is a rare find for collectors of sports memorabilia. The front in hard formed leather wrapped construction. Top features two leather straps coming over the top, connected to the canvas harness. Amazingly the rear of the helmet, boasts the original draw tie string with metal aglet tips. The under chin strap is still present and pliable featuring a draw through design with a concealed flap to protect the opposing boxer. This beauty has a large Everlast emblem on the crown of this early headgear. Helmet fit an adult head and weighs 1 pound 6 1/2 ounces. Overall length at the ears is 8 inches high, approximately 6 1/2 inches from the bottom of the nose to the top. The vintage piece dates back to the teens - 20s and is in great condition.
