Description: This ring was likely created at least 60 years ago. It has been in my possession since the 70's and not worn in the last 25 years. Almost forgot I owned this lovely piece, but discovered it as I'm downsize my jewelry collection. The band on this is wide and heavy, add to that the cage and the embellishments, there is a substantial amount of 14K gold on this ring -- far more than is typical topaz ring. It originally was mounted on a slim band, but this stone called for something more substantial, allowing it to wear well and safely. About 1996 a private jewelry artisan was commissioned to mount this beautiful topaz on a wider, stronger band. It was an excellent idea as it made the ring stay in place and not slip preventing it from risk or damage. At that time, every time I wore this piece, it was noticed and brought many compliments. My personal style has changed and I don't wear gold jewelry any longer. I don't believe beautiful things should always be kept in a drawer, so it's time for this beautiful ring to find a new home.
