Description: *VINTAGE RARE WESTERN BOSAL HACKAMORE HORSE HAIR MECATE HEADSTALL* ** INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS WELCOME! MANY LOCATIONS NOW AVAILABLE ** I bought several hackamore sets over 20 years ago from a ranch family whose grandpa owned them, this is one of those sets. They thought it was along the lines of an Ortega but they didn't have the documentation from him. This is a very unique and rare bosal hackamore, I've had many high end ones in my day but not many like this one, wish I knew the maker. I've hung onto it not wanting to part with it, this hackamore set has been one of my favorites. GORGEOUS finely plaited rawhide nose, cheeks and large pineapple heel knot, all so well done, this set was done by an old school master braider. The multi earth toned colored horsehair mecate reins have worn down some so they are more smooth with a very light prickle to them, but soft enough to easily hold bare handed. Supple traditional leather tie hanger. Bosal is standard horse size measuring inside approx. 11 inches long inside. This set is very sentimental to me, it has been used on several of my horses over the last 25 years, whoever gets it I hope it becomes the same for you.
