Description: this is a vintage American Victorian Crazy Quilt. hand made, velvet, satin, silk, etc. a museum piece that needs attention. there is a 4" wide dark red velvet border, the color & texture of a queens red robe. the 4 part puffy 4" circles are each stuffed with cotton like little cushions. the silk frays & the cotton balls fall out. it is 60 x 51. there are a lot of worn out 1/4 round sections to replace. I've restored crazy quilts before. it can be done easily without removing the embroidery, however the correct way is to document the embroidery, remove it, replace the worn out pieces & then resew the embroidered borders as they were, just takes time. the back is a lighter red cotton with gold knots. part of a 50 year collection. more to follow.
