Seller Description Vintage Persian Storage Jar Vase w/ Rope Decoration An absolutely stunning example of a hand thrown pottery jar of red clay and featuring meandering rope decoration encircling the body in classic Persian style. The pot is covered in thick drippy glazes of Chinese white, turquoise and red oxide colors. Although this example is unmarked, similar forms and glazes were created at the Jugtown Pottery in North Carolina. Size: 10“ high by 5” wide The vase is in excellent pre-owned condition with no damage or repairs to note. Very fine craquelure is evident in the white glaze at the neck; and visible in the close-up images. A single fingerprint or kiln kiss to the unglazed clay at the lower body is noted.
