Description: The internet tells me this is a vintage Japanese wooden storage or measuring box with metal trim and dovetail construction. This box is also characteristically stamped with figures (I am unable to read.) These traditional boxes apparently have multiple uses in Japan, including measuring and storage and use in celebrations. This old box comes from the local estate of a military officer who was stationed in Asia. It is very attractive and is in quite good preowned condition, but does show signs of age and use as seen in photos. The square box measures 6.75” x 6.75”. It stands 3.75” tall. This attractive box would make a great addition to any decor or collection.
