Vintage Ben Hur Book Lew Wallace Blue Cover 1st Edition 1880 Religious

Description: This antique book titled "Ben-Hur" was published in 1880 by Harper & Brothers. It is a 1st edition hardcover book with a blue cover and is written in English. The book is a thrilling action and adventure story with religious undertones and has been a beloved classic for over a century. It was written by the author Lew Wallace and is in good condition with some loose pages at the front and a small tear in the tables of contents pages. The text pages are excellent other than a bit of yellowing. The front page is very interesting with a note "For Papa" dated August 4, 1895 and a later note from 1927. On the list of Harper and Brothers popular novels in the back is one loose page and some newspaper articles about Ben Hur. This is definitely a time capsule. Insurance and/or tracking for international sales is available at a much greater shipping cost (required for Portugal).
