Description: VINTAGE and RARE 1970 Seiko Watch (World Time) “ERROR BEZEL” 6117-6420T Free ShippingNicknamed "the Error Dial" because of the separate markings for London and GMT, it was long thought to be a manufacturing error by Seiko. Hence the nickname. In recent years, however, it was discovered that this was an accurate depiction by Seiko of the experiment by British Prime Minister Harold Wilson to move London off of GMT by creating a new BST, or British Standard Time. The experiment was a disaster and Wilson quickly went back to GMT, making the so-called "error dial" a really cool piece of horological history that only lasted for about a year from mid-1969 to mid-1970. *See photos for condition and details
