Description: Vintage 1951 Boston Cooking School Cook Book Fannie Farmer Hard Cover Exec Fannie Farmer was born on 23 March 1857 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Farmer provided scientific explanations of the chemical processes that occur in food during cooking and helped to standardize the system of measurements used in cooking in the USA. Fannie published her best-known work, The Boston Cooking-School Cook Book, in 1896. Preface to The Ninth Edition States: “Naturally, many new recipes have been accumulated since the last revision in 1946. They have been tested and retested and only the best has been added ---- some gleaned from travel in Sweden and Astria, others the contribution of friends in the United States.” This cookbook is complete, clean, tight, and no: marks, writing, folds, tears on pages. It has tight hinges; the board edges and corners are particularly good. There are no stains or smudging within the text. It does have name written on first page. Book is in Excellent Condition that will be treasured for many years to come and only continue to gain in value over time.
