Vintage 1950s Union Jack Flag 4’6” x 2’3” Excelsior Original Rope & Toggle Super

Description: An original, probably mid 1950s, woven cotton Union Flag in superb, probably unused condition. With vibrant colours, heavy canvas hoist hem with makers label for 'Excelsior' by Ernest W. Perrett of London, clear stamps and original rope and wooden toggle. 4’6” x 2’3” or approximately 135 x 66cm, a traditional 1½ yard size. Part of a consignment of international flags made by Excelsior Flags Ltd and supplied to Whiteley's of Bayswater from the late 1940s through to the early 1960s.
