Description: Autographed 4" x 6" half tone heavy stock photograph of an illustration of the Romanian soprano and later voice pedagogue. Vera Mora (1908-19??) Romanian soprano Romanian opera singer, born in St. Petersburg, after mother of Czech origin. She studied at the Prague Conservatory (1931/1935) and in Prague was the first independent concert of Romanian music (1933). Sung at the Nation Theatre in lyrico spinto roles from 1935-1940 including Marenka in the Bartered Bride and Nedda in I Pagliacci. Since 1940 she has been a professor of solo singing at the Prague Conservatory and was still active in concert. She was also a dedicated promoter of Romanian music in the Czech Republic and in Romania. She has also played an important role as an interpreter of Italian arias and songs. She was the second wife of the great Czech tenor Richard Kubla.
