Warp and weft threads each have a different thickness and colour, which gives the fabric an extraordinary texture and a very natural touch. Band collar shirts have their origins in the 1830s, when shirts with detachable collars became fashionable. The collar could be washed separately, which meant fewer washing days overall. While the principle of the detachable collar has not experienced a revival to this day, shirts with stand-up collars are still popular today, especially in the warmer months.
