Description: Window card for the 1975 booking of the Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. tour of Samuel Taylor's Broadway comedy "The Pleasure of His Company" which Mr. Fairbanks traveled with extensively through the 1970s including stops in London, Australia, the United States, and the present one at the Royal Alexandra Theater in Toronto. The play was a natural for Fairbanks who portrayed a somewhat tarnished but infinitely charming international playboy who returns to San Francisco, home of his former wife, to give away their daughter in marriage. He hasn't laid eyes on the girl side she was a tot and now discovering her a resplendent young woman, he turns on all the charm that has won his reputation in all the playgrounds of the world. The daughter is quite naturally utterly transported, while mother and fiancee are helpless against this sophisticated tidal wave. But all resolves happily when the girl wins her plea to be allowed a small sabbatical abroad with her father before settling down to the marriage she still cherishes. The card measures 14 x 22 inches and is printed on thin paper. The item is in fair condition other than mild edge wear consistent with age and some slight discoloration along the right upper edge. The colors, especially the blues, remain vibrant. The item is sold in AS IS condition so please study the accompanying photograph before bidding. Shipped flat with USPS Ground Advantage Mail.
