Featuring All 13 Hammer-Smashing Episodes In 1966 Stan Lee's Marvel Comics engaged the Canadian animation group Filmation to produce a series of animated adventures of Captain America, Iron-Man, Hulk, Sub-Mariner and The Mighty Thor. (Marvel released The Amazing Spiderman series the following year.) The stories and art for all these series came straight out of Marvel comics themselves, from issues published in the early 1960s. The animation for this series is not complex, but very engaging due to the strength of drawing, by Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Gene Colan, John Romita and Don Heck. The intense narration is by veteran actor John Vernon. "Cheap" animation no doubt, but a lot of fun to watch.
