The Lost Books of Eve Vol 1 #1-5 Paperback TPB/Graphic Novel Viper Comics 2008

Description: For sale today is the very rare and out-of-print (oop) Dark Horse Books/Comics trade paperback (tpb)/graphic novel The Lost Books of Eve (Volume 1) by John Howard, published in 2008. Collects Lost Books of Eve (2006) #1-4. Story and art by John Howard. When Adam turns up missing, it's up to Eve to venture outside the safety of the Garden of Eden into a chaotic world overrun by gods, demons, and sorcery! Collecting the first 4-issue story arc, Eve goes toe-to-toe with the likes of Zeus and Lilith while learning the painful lessons of betrayal along the way. Featuring behind-the-scenes and sketchbook material, along with commentary by creator Josh Howard. I am not a comics grader, but I try to be as thorough as possible when assessing books for any flaws. I don't believe in using a number grade system - to me they are mostly utilized as a method to be ambiguous about exact condition and/or individual imperfections - but I do attempt to describe anything other than minor cover shelf-scuffing/scratching in detail. If a certain flaw discussed below does not mention that it affects inside pages, then it does not. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This copy is in good reading condition but decent external condition. It has a solid spine, and great overall inside pages (photo#14 example), and light if any edge-wear. It does have a few outer corner cover indents, and some light liquid stains on part of the back cover that thankfully do not show as stains on the inside pages, only light wave/depressions on ~5 pages. **Photo#4: -Upper spine corner: Light scuffing. **Photo#5: -Lower spine corner: Light scuffing, tiny ding/indent at/around where it meets the front cover, small peel/tear where it meets the back cover. **Photo#6: -Front cover top edge: Small scuff near its middle, otherwise light if any shelf-wear.-Outer corner: ~1/2" indent/bend around corner (photo#10 w/illumination), goes thru ~10 pages as a light bend. **Photo#7:-Front cover bottom edge: Two light ~1/2" cover indents starting adjacent edge near its middle, otherwise light shelf-scuffing/wear.-Outer corner: ~1/2" light indent around corner (photo#11 w/illumination). Tiny indent/scuff/bend at extreme corner, goes thru ~1/5 pages lightly. **Photo#8: -Back cover top edge: 2 tiny scuffs near its middle, otherwise light if any shelf-scuffing/wear.-Outer corner: Tiny scuff, goes thru ~6 pages lightly. **Photo#9:-Back cover bottom edge: Light if any shelf-scuffing/wear.-Outer corner: ~1.5"x~3/4" stain patch/light wave depression around corner - thankfully does not show on pages, but does cause a light wave on ~5 pages (photo#12). Two small/light crease around corner itself, goes thru ~1/3 pages as a light bend (photo#13). **Additionally: Front cover possesses a ~2"x~1.5" patch of sticker residue near the bottom outer corner (photo#10 w/illumination - might come off, I prefer not to mess with them). Much lighter ~2"x~1" patch near top outer corner (photo#11 w/illumination). Back cover has a light ~1/2" indent/depression starting adjacent the spine edge's upper half. Another ~2.5"x~2" patch of light stain/wave depression towards the bottom outer corner (photo#12 w/illumination, similar effect to other patch). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I both buy to read as well as sell TPBs on here, so I understand how aggravating it is to receive a comic damaged in transit. I always pack books firmly between pieces of cardboard (among other materials/layers) via Gemini Comic mailers or bubble mailers depending on size; usually utilizing boxes for larger lots.
