An obscure book on temperance, written near the end of the prohibition era. The story describes the exploits of draftsman, Henry Freeman who leaves his job due to the drunkenness of his coworkers and founds a utopian (dry) farming community on a hill which operates a girl scout camp in the summers. The camp acts as a haven for all those poor children who come from drinking families, at least one of which is adopted by a widow friend of Freeman's. We can't find much info on Northrop other than he was a resident of Elmira, NY and died in 1949. OCLC lists this title as being published by an Evangelical Press in Harrisburg, PA, though our copy is stamped "Sample. Box 8, Times Plaza Sta. Brooklyn, N.Y."
