Description: Shown is the Taccia Limited Edition Hyakko Hisho Hakudo Fountain Pen. This pen is 36 out of 50 in a beautiful understated matte urushi, Hakudo, over a faceted ebonite barrel. The nib is 18k Fine. Purple pen kimono, wooden box and exterior box are included and are in near perfect condition. The signature and numbering of edition is on the bottom of the barrel and is also perfectly intact. Here's the spiel from Taccia: Hyakko-Hisho fountain pens embody both the beauty and the history of Japanese traditional culture. In the 17th century, Tsunanori Maeda, the fuedal lord of the Kaga Domain, collected a series of historically important craftsmanship techniques now referred to as Hyakko-Hisho. To honor the artwork and creativity of this original period, we have created the Hyakko-Hisho Limited Edition Collection to pay homage to the history and tradition of this celebrated period. Each fountain pen is made by hand in our Urushi studio in Wajima, enhancing traditional inlay techniques with precious metals and lacquer. To blend the old with the new, each fountain pen comes fitted with a Japanese 18K gold nib, over a selection of individually polished Ebonite barrels. And to truly bring historical craftsmanship into your hand, each series is limited and signed by our maki-e artisan.
