Description: For sale is one (1) SurgeX ICE-20C 20A Inrush Current Eliminator with Independence Tolerant EMI/RFI Filtering and Remote Control Capabilities. This unit was purchased for a home A/V electrical project with multiple large in-cabinet power amplifiers. This project has been deferred and I no longer need to hang on to this open box unit. This unit has never been installed. I removed the wrapping for testing and verification. It has been stored in my climate controlled basement. The unit ships with a one heavy-duty male NEMA 5-20P/120 and female IEC 60320 C 19 120 power cord - see photos. It requires a 5-20R/20A power outlet (with one blade turned 90 degrees) unless you use a 5-15P to 5-20R converter / cable which is not supplied. How would you use the ICE-20C? I still have several of these in my active setup. The ICE-20C is awesome for controlling in-rush currents to large powerful audio power amplifiers in audio/video installations. You can setup the ICE-20C to remotely turn on/off its load via a 12V "trigger" power source such as a pre-amp being turned on with a 12V trigger. These units have the multi-pin green Phoenix connectors to interface with other SurgeX products or a simple 5-30V DC external trigger. These are perfect and built like a tank, for switching large audio power amplifiers on/off. By controlling the turn-on in-rush current to the electronic circuitry, these units can prolong the life of the unit and reduce stress on the main power-supply capacitors! To use the unit's remote turn on, you would connect an applied 5-30V DC voltage with the positive to ping 2 and the negative to 3. Multiple units may also be cascaded together to cascade on ~ 1/2 second apart. This is explained in the Installation manual. These units are Engineered and Made in the USA! This unit's label indicates it was manufactured on 11/16/06 and serial number ends in 597.
