Description: "Black Barbie" #1293 is Mattel's first African-American Barbie doll. She was designed with the Steffie head mold and Afro-hairstyling, and manufactured in Taiwan circa 1979. "She's black! She's beautiful! She's dynamite!" Black Barbie is unused in her original box, as she still remains attached to her liner and her accessories are complete in their baggy. I believe that I was the first one to remove Black Barbie from her original box, because I wanted to check that she is complete. She is, including paperwork. Black Barbie's box sustains wear, tear, rubs, and creasing from age and storage. Its plastic window is dinged and scuffed. Black Barbie is Beautiful and UN-played with!
