Description: This dramatic original seascape painting features loads of old Florida style. Reminiscent of classic vintage Florida Highwaymen artwork, it captures the ever-changing Florida sea and sky, transitioning from a tranquil glowing sunset to a turbulent dark storm. The medium is oil on canvas and it is signed "JMc". I could not locate any information on this artist, but suspect he is a contemporary painter, local to central Florida. I don't know the exact age of this piece, but would estimate early 2000's based on the style of frame and condition of the painting. The piece measures approximately 25 inches in height and is about 21 inches wide (framed), portrait configuration, and a good medium-large size. The coastal scene is beautifully executed in shades of midnight blue, teal blue, silver, white, cotton candy pink, charcoal, black, dove gray, and pale blue. The frame is solid wood with a beveled surface, painted an ivory shade, with an ivory inner linen border. The contrast between the frame and painting really brings the picture to life! The (canvas) picture itself is in excellent condition with no visible stains, tears, or holes. The back of the canvas is clean with no age spots or discoloration. The frame is also in very good condition with very minimal normal wear, and no significant scratches, scuffs or gouges. The linen border in the frame is clean with no stains, spots, holes, or unraveling. The picture is well mounted in the frame with framing clips (see photos). The hanging bracket and wire are secure and sturdy. Please see photos for more detail. This painting is much more striking in person that the photographs convey.
