Gallatin, was the grandson of Albert Gallatin, U.S. Senator, and Sec. of the Treasury (1801-1814), and founder of the University of the City of New York). Not only a surgeon during the war (also service in the 22nd New York), but a very learned man, a professor of five sciences from 5 different universities. Very good.
