Description: This bracelet is part of the Pop Art line and is called Popinho Medio. The Pop Art line was created by Sobral to represent the passage of Modernity into Post Modernity in the Western culture. This bracelet is the rare Pastel version which features a pastel hued stripe motif. There are 12 cube beads on an elastic banding and the cubes are about 5/8". This is part of a huge purchase from the Paris vintage inventory. There was only two or three of these bracelets and I purchased them both. The first United Nations Conference to address environmental degradation was held in Stockholm in 1972. Already at that time the designer Carlos Sobral was working with resin and creating new techniques and alternative products to reuse all the raw material he consumed in the production of his collections. All Sobral production strictly follows the current enveironmental standards; however, Sobral goes further by putting into practice the zero disposal of raw material. In addition, Sobral jewelry protects fauna and flora when it replaces what would be made from scarce materials impacting the environment such as ivory, turtle, precious stones, metals, woods and etc..
