Description: Herbie Smith (1933-2022) was a southern Ohio singer who put out a lot of records on a lot of different regional record labels in the late 1950s and 1960s. He never broke through nationally. Here are six different Herbie Smith vinyl singles, on a variety of labels. Three are autographed some variety of "To Frank and Vera, Herbie Smith." Frank and Vera [Cherrette] were a Dayton, Ohio married couple. Frank worked as a county sheriff and drove a blue Harley Electra Glide in his free time. Though Herbie is best known as a rockabilly singer, one of these record covers shows his later incarnation as a tuxedo-clad lounge singer.
