Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 The Alamo Scouts were an all-volunteer group of specially trained soldiers who were infiltrated into Japanese-held territory in the Pacific in WWII to conduct espionage and sabotage operations. They were remarkably successful in their operations, mostly carried out in New Guinea and the Philippines, and took very few casualties considering how dangerous their missions were. One of the more successful of their missions was the liberation of the POW camp at Cabanatuan on Luzon, in the last few months before the Japanese surrender. In many respects, the Alamo Scouts were the fore-runners of today's Special Forces, and this well written book is a testament to their courage and achievements. This 2009 Hardcover is in very good condition, with no internal markings and nominal dust cover wear.
