Lewis G/G One almost never finds such a lovely, complete, and old set in such decent condition, including dust wrappers. Items specifics below: LION: First Edition Fifth Printing, dust jacket NOT price clipped. Some loss and chips, will be Mylar covered. Books is bright and clean, slightly cocked, previous owner’s name on title page, some tears to a few pages. Beautiful color frontispiece, not included in later editions. CASPIAN: first edition third printing. dust jacket NOT price clipped; price blacked out. Some tape marks. Mylar covered. Books is bright and clean, finding a bit loose, some pages a bit spotted. previous owner’s name on blank page. Beautiful color frontispiece, not included in later editions. VOYAGE: first edition, second printing. Dust jacket is not Price clipped, is covered in mylar, and has some spotting or marking on the back cover along with a few tears, chips, and loss. Finding is a little bit loose, previous owner’s last name on one blank page at the beginning of the book. Includes a beautiful illustration of the Dawn Treader lacking in later editions. Pages are very bright and clean. SILVER: first edition, third printing. Dust jacket is very bright and not price clipped. Covered in mylar. Book has a full page illustration opposite the title page, lacking in later editions. Pages in general are bright and clean, except for some spotting on the outside edges. Binding is fairly tight and slightly cocked. HORSE: first edition, fifth printing in a fairly clean and intact dust wrapper, though it is Price clipped. Pages are bright and clean, book is a little cocked and spine of the dust jacket is slightly faded with some small tears, but overall a very decent book. NEPHEW: first edition, fourth printing, and the first of the seven books to be released by Bodley Head along with the last battle. – – all the others before it published by Bles. Book has a blue ink inscription from a previous owner on the dedication page. Pages are generally bright and clean, book is slightly cocked with some spotting on the outside edges. There is some boxing to the back of the dust jacket, as well as some folds, chips, tears, and a small bit of loss, although this jacket is not price clipped. BATTLE: first edition, third printing. Just jacket is intact with a few tears and chips, but overall very bright and clean. Paige is also our bright and clean, and the book is slightly caulked, but overall in nice condition for its age. Overall, this is a gorgeous set and will be priced by its new owner. As always, pictures show the condition of these exact books. These are very early printings, all printed no later than 1963, the last year of Lewis’s life, and one was printed in 1957 – – very difficult to find! All are fifth printings or earlier, including three third printings and one second impression.
