Description: Hollywood likes to remake movies from the past. Sometimes they are a straight up remake, and sometimes they are called a reboot (though there's not much difference between the two terms). Sometimes, the new movies are even a continuation of characters from a past film. Today's really good deal is movies that fall into all three of those categories! First up is from the 'remake/rewind' series. It features both the 1979 original version of 'When a Stranger Calls', as well as the 2006 remake. The original is rated R, and the remake is rated PG-13. Pretty close to R, and both are definitely not for kids! Next is the original version of legendary horror movie director Wes Craven's classic 'The Hills Have Eyes', originally released in 1977. This is the TWO disc set that's uncut and uncensored! The second disc includes tons of special features. Discs have a couple of very light surface marks on them, but nothing bad, or that will affect play. Case looks new. Then we have the 2006 remake of 'The Hills Have Eyes', and the unrated special 'version to die for' edition! Produced by Wes Craven. (The sequel, which came out in '07, was co-written and co-produced by Wes Craven and his son Jonathan.) This DVD has one or two very light surface marks on it, but nothing bad or that will affect play. Case and slipcover look great. Next up is the THREE DISC edition of 'Carrie'! The first and original 'Carrie' movie, based on a Stephen King novel, came out in 1976. It was ground-breaking for its time, and scared horror movie fans! In 2009, MGM released the original, the 1999 sequel, and the 2002 reboot (which features Amy Irving from the original). All three discs look new, and are shiny and clean. Case looks new as well. In 1979, a horror movie named 'The Town That Dreaded Sundown', based on a true story, was released. I saw it at our local drive-in, as a young teenager (Google drive-in if you're not sure what that is). It was scary and chilling, and it even features Dawn Wells, the original Mary Ann from the TV show 'Gilligan's Island'. This copy is the original movie on Blu-ray, plus a DVD of a bonus scary movie titled 'The Evictors'. STILL SEALED and NEVER OPENED or PLAYED! The movie of the same name, released in 2014, TEN years ago, is actually a continuation. It definitely addresses the original movie, and that first film is part of the plot. This one is a Blu-ray, and the disc looks new and is still shiny and clean. Case also looks new. Last, we have 'The Craft'. The original, released in 1997, showed us that mean girls could also be witches! Neve Campbell was riding high on the success of 'Scream', and the TV shows 'Catwalk' and 'Party of Five'. Fairuka Balk was already a film veteran, and went on to even more movies after this role, including the girlfriend (Vicki Vallencourt) of Bobby Boucher from Adam Sandler's 'The Waterboy'. 'The Craft' is a fun 90s movie in every way! The 'continuation', titled 'The Craft Legacy' was released in 2020, and produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions (who's produced SEVERAL horror and thrillers through the years). Fairuza even has a cameo in 'Legacy'! The DVD of the original has a few light marks on it, as well as some cloudiness. Nothing bad, or that will affect play. Case looks new. The Blu-ray of 'Legacy' looks new, and is shiny and clean. Case also looks new.
