Description: Rare 2 Page WWI German Death Card for a Very Old Armiersoldier Who Died at the Advanced Age of 57, JUST 9 DAYS BEFORE THE WAR ENDED ON NOV. 11, 1918DESCRIPTION: Nice 2 page, WWI German death card for an Armiersoldier who died after a long, serious illness JUST 9 DAYS PRIOR TO THE END OF THE WAR. A 57 year old soldier, who shouldn't have even been in military service at such a late age. THIS IS THE OLDEST SOLDIER I HAVE EVER SEEN & THE CLOSEST DEATH TO THE WAR END.Specifically, "the honorable Mr. Georg Hochgratzl, farmer in civilian life, Armiersoldier in the Armiermags Batallion, 2nd Co., who died on Nov. 2, 1918, aged 57, in the primary reserve hospital after 4 weeks sickness." The sadness OF DEATH JUST 9 DAYS PRIOR TO THE WAR'S END & FORMAL ARMISTICE, ESPECIALLY RARE TO FIND SUCH AN OLD SOLDIER SERVING, AT AGE 57.LARGE PHOTO of him wearing uniform and hat. On the reverse is a nice patriotic/military battlefield depiction.Extremely difficult to find WWI soldier death cards anymore, but I am selling part of my collection and have a few nice ones to offer.
