Description: This period Mary Gregory decorated glass is quite an interesting piece. It features a lovely young lady picking flowers, the background is done in high quality Mary Gregory white raised enamels, but her dress and hat feature fired on blue colored Coralene glass beads, the flowers that she is picking are also fired on Coralene glass beads in a golden amber color. Her lovely face has colored fired on multicolor enamels emphasizing facial tones, detailed hair, and other facial features. The lovely cranberry glass ribbed Champagne glass bowl is lovely old period thin glass as expected, with a gold gilded rim, and an applied clear crystal stem and foot. There is a small tooling mark at the top that was gilded over. Although it's uncommon for the early Mary Gregory glass to have colored features, this is 100% period, and quite unique. The Coralene is not the new stuff that's glued on, these are fired on glass beads, and correct to the period. As to the maker, could be Julius Muhlhaus, perhaps even Josephinenhütte as the worlds leading expert on Josephinenhütte glass, Dr. Stefania Żelasko, has indicated that Josephinenhütte did period color Coralene decoration. Josephinenhütte was only about 30 miles from the Harrach Glassworks, who is known to have produced both Mary Gregory glass, as well as blanks for many of the decorating shows in that also did Mary Gregory decoration. You may never see another piece like this, if you're a Mary Gregory glass collector, don't let this piece get away! Size 7" tall, condition is as made, no chips, cracks or repairs.
