Description: Full title is "I Can’t Believe You Really Love Me (It's Like a Wonderful Dream)" from an apparent very obscure musical called "Lasky's Trained Nurses" circa 1911. There are references to the musical but none associated with Mae Bronte as she has only one accredited title in 1911. George Callahan is on Playbill with 7 accredited shows from 1911 to 1930 and seems to have written a book on ventriloquism, but this title or play is no where to be found so he also has no accreditation for this. Words by Grant Clarke with music by Maurice Abrahams, with the publisher by the same name from Broadway. So we have a newly discovered musical piece for the two formerly unaccredited performers. I found one reference to the song, on Victor record label B-15073 published in 1914, and two other sheet music with the song title but no reference to the musical, so this appears to be the original origin for the music. They may have not lasted long in the performance as it appears that the famous duo of Clark and Bergman received much of the accolades for the play (see the excerpt from a manager's note book dated October 1912 from Boston). And Irving Berlin did write some pieces for it also. The copyright date on the music is 1914 (MCMXIV), by Maurice Abrahams Music Company. This contradicts his biography online which states that he did not start his publishing company until 1923. Very rare, might be the only one left in existence.
