Rogers Seat, named after Samuel Rogers, poet and banker and commissioned gateway of Portland stone by Inigo Jones, 1629 in Jacobean country estate, Holland Park in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London, built in 1605 by Sir Walter Cope, the ruins are Grade I listed. Holland House, originally known as Cope Castle, was an early Jacobean country house in Kensington, London, situated in a country estate that is now Holland Park. During World War II, Holland House was largely destroyed by enemy firebombing. Today, only the east wing, some ruins, and outbuildings remain. The east wing is used as a youth hostel, and the courtyard hosts summer opera performances. The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea owns the site.
