Description: Rare Billy Tubbs Signed 8x10 Photo Oklahoma Sooners Basketball Coach Autographed. This is a rare autographed 8x10 photo of Oklahoma Sooners basketball coaching legend Billy Tubbs. Note: the photo was a white border on the left and right edge and a tiny white border at the top. The color portion of the photo is roughly 6.5" x 10". Billy Tubbs grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Central High School. He played basketball at Lon Morris Junior College and Lamar Tech. He began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater Lamar, before becoming head coach at Southwestern (Texas). He would be head coach at Lamar from 1976 to 1980 before joining the Oklahoma Sooners. Tubbs coached the Sooners from 1980 to 1994. Some of his players there included Wayman Tisdale, Mookie Blaylock, Harvey Grant, Stacey King, and Ryan Minor. Tubbs would later coach at TCU from 1994 to 2002 before returning to Lamar as Head Coach and Athletic Director. Tubbs passed away in 2020 after battling leukemia.
