Description: A very rare and hard-to-find vintage 1950s-1960s Hi Gladding Utica 375-80 74J eight-foot, two-piece "Thermoweld Fiberglass" spinning/surf-fishing rod. Brown/yellow/gold color motif. Cork handles. Good working condition with normal wear. About 9" of the gold thread wrapping between the handle and the first guide has come loose. A previous owner wrapped what appears to be one or two wraps of black electrical tape around the front end of the top cork handle. The cork is in good condition with a couple small nicks. (See photos.) This very rare rod will make a great addition to your vintage fishing tackle collection, or your rods for heavy-duty freshwater or saltwater/surf fishing - as well as a welcome gift for your favorite angler or collector.
