Rare 1909 RPPC Postcard Woodward Oklahoma Fire Department Engine Firemen OK

Description: This rare 1909 real photo postcard features the Woodward Oklahoma fire department, pictured with their fire engine. Approximate size: 5.4 inches x 3.4 inches My favorite part of this postcard is the inclusion of the fire department dog near the head of the engine. His head is a bit of a blur because of movement, which is charming. While it lasts, I do have another postcard of this same fire department one year later participating in a competition. If interested, head to my store and type "Woodward" into the search. Woodward is a city located in and also the county seat of Woodward County, Oklahoma, United States. It is known for being the largest city in a nine-county area. The area was originally inhabited by the Kiowa, Comanche, Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes. The city was established by European-American settlers in 1887, following the construction of the railroad for shipping cattle to markets. In the 19th century, it was one of the most important depots in the Oklahoma Territory for shipping cattle to the East as it was on the Great Western Cattle Trail. Today, the city offers various attractions such as the natural beauty and abundant wildlife of Boiling Springs State Park and the historical exhibits at the Plains Indians & Pioneers Museum. Please inspect the pictures, as they give the best representation of condition. May have discoloring, edge or corner wear, marks, creases, fading, smudges, corner or edge bends, tears, or corners missing. In particular, notice that there are anomalies and scratches on the front and some discoloration on the back, two spots that show through to the front some. This is not a mint piece; however, its condition is relatively normal for an item over a century old. (E46 inventory number)
