Description: Raleigh TECHNIUM 480 USA Frameset with Advanced Composite Technology Up for sale is a 1986 Vintage Raleigh TECHNIUM 480 USA frameset. Thermal bonded, high strength, heat treated composite aluminum alloy / chrome-moly frame with Investment-Cast Fast-Back seat stay design. Chrome-moly fork with sloping crown and forged dropouts. Frame features internally routed brake cable and is prepped for recessed caliper mount and features shifter bosses, dual bottle mounts, cable stops, chain hanger. Sale includes SR LaPrade micro-adjusting alloy seat post with recessed Sugino binder. This was a nice quality frameset back in 1986, and would be a very worthy candidate for a full restoration. Un-restored, it would make a great college bike or city bike with the great ride quality and a very stealthy appearance – a real sleeper. This frame is nice and straight with no dents and bents. Cosmetically the original paint and graphics have been painted over and the head badge is missing. Numerous scuffs and rubs from normal use, (far too many to list individually so please see the pictures). Overall I would rate the appearance a 6 out of 10 – adding a head badge and decal set would instantly take it up to an 8.
