A wonderfully weird instrumental passage towards the end of the A-side. There’s also a strong B-side, again mid-tempo. Producer is Bob Gallo, otherwise better known for his work with R&B artists over at Atlantic in the 60’s – Ben E. King, Drifters, Solomon Burke etc. After a debut 45 on ABC-Paramount this was their 2nd 45. It was followed by another three on Monument. Apart from the ABC effort, Gallo was involved with the rest. On this 45 their name is “Smubbs”, plain and simple, on all others they are “The Smubbs”.
