President William Henry Harrison Inauguration Inaugural Address 1841 Newspaper

Description: President William Henry Harrison Inauguration Inaugural Address 1841 Newspaper Offered is an original, historic, & collectible old newspaper: KENDALL'S EXPOSITOR, Washington, D.C., March 17, 1841 * William Henry Harrison * Presidential inauguration This was an uncommon title which lasted but 4 years. The prospectus (not here) notes it was a semi-weekly devoted to "...the security of the right of suffrage by additional laws to punish bribery & fraud...an exposure of abuses & corruptions in government..." and more. Amos Kendall was Postmaster General under Andrew Jackson, later publishing this small, bi-weekly newspaper from 1841-1844 He was very pro-democrat and anti-Whig. All of pages 1, 2 and 3 are taken up wirth reports on trhe inauguration of President William Henry Harrison. The front page is headed: "The Inauguration" and page 2 has: "The Inaugural" which continues on to page 3. Harrison gave the longest inaugural address in history, so it is not surprising that the report begins: "It was our purpose to lay the Inaugural Address of the news President before our readers; but we are prevented by its great length. The substance of the document, however, can be compressed into a very narrow compass, and is as follows...". Complete in 16 pages, 5 3/4 by 8 3/4 inches, nice condition. Please Note: All of our offerings are 100% authentic! We do not offer reprints or reproductions of any kind. They are guaranteed to be original! Links to Archival Storage Options & Certificates of Authenticity Are Below! Historical reports may be beautiful or ugly, but they are always informative. While we rejoice in the beautiful (heroic, discovery, amazing feats, etc.), we at Historys Newsstand also offer "the ugly" for we are determined to learn from the wrongs of the past - understanding, to do so, we must be willing to look these wrongs directly in the face and shout "NO MORE!". It is for this reason many Black Americans collect historic slave ads, Jews collect reports regarding the Holocaust, women collect coverage of the Womens Suffrage Movement, etc.. If you find any to be offensive, we agree! Hopefully this is an indication we are moving in the right direction. Domestic Shipping Policy... For this specific item, A U.S. winner pays $6.00 S&H.
