Description: Pre-Civil War Militia Officers Sword. The blade is marked "N.P. Ames", "Cutler", and "Springfield". The crossguard is tight, the grip will move a little if you force it, and the pommel will spin completely around if you force it. The grip is solid with one chip by the pommel. The etched blade is straight, unsharpened, some small nicks, and it has some age spots with pitting scattered throughout. Washer is missing. Length of the blade is 30 3/4" (1 1/8" wide and 1/4" thick), and the sword is 36 3/4". Check out my other War items!! Including More Swords and Many Bayonets!!
