Description: PortmeirionBirds of Britain Acorn & LeafFooted Cup and Saucer Rarely found are the traditional footed cups (vs. the flat cups) in the Birds of Britain Acorn & Leaf pattern! This beloved pattern was conceived by Susan Williams-Ellis (British, 1918-2007), the founder and prolific designer of Portmeirion Pottery. The realistic illustrations used on this pattern were taken from E. Donovan's book "Natural History of British Birds". Widespread distribution began in 1978 and met great success. This footed cup features an adorable Goldcrest bird, and the saucer has the acorn and leaf band. Approximate Dimension: The cup is 2-3/4" tall with a rim diameter of 3-1/2". The saucer has a diameter of 6". Both pieces are fully hallmarked and are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or staining. * Please visit our other listings for another cup & saucer set that features the Redstart bird illustration! * Thank you for visiting our listing!
