PAUL SIMON in PAUL SIMON's Concert In The Park DVD (1991)(Remastered from LaserDisc to DVD) "Born at the Right Time" Tour: Released exclusively on the long since discontinued and deleted formats of VHS and LaserDisc on the 26th of November 1991. This classic concert was remastered and exclusively released on LaserDisc in only Europe, Japan and USA. This recording of this concert has NEVER been released on DVD until NOW! This REMASTERED DVD is sourced directly from the original high quality LaserDisc to DVD for the first time ever! Quality is unmatched as it transferred from the long since deleted LaserDisc from OVER THIRTY THREE years ago. Background information: This concert was recorded and originally released as a VHS video and LaserDisc. There was a simultaneous release of the VHS in the UK, Asutralia as well as Europe. Separately, a Dolby mixed version was released on VHS in the USA. The LaserDisc versions we're also simultaneously released in 1991 in Europe Japan and USA. There was some evidence of the intention to an eventual DVD release but it never came to fruition with the exception of a short limited and discontinued release through a network. The other formats released of this classic concert are on CD and audio cassette. The concert was was reportedly recorded live through 96 microphone channels and 20 discrete stage mixers. It was then released, with minor track differences. Some audiophiles and sound purists argue that unless the remastering process includes completely “lossless” compression of audio that no matter how it may be converted/processed to Dolby sound (for the VHS release) or better, it still is compressed audio thus producing some say a more audibly muddled sound. This is due to the lessening of the dynamic range between the loudest and quietest parts of the audio signal thus producing some distortion and a clipping audio effect. The DVD offered here is from the original LaserDisc released back in 1991. Because of the large 12 inch size of the LaserDisc format it can easily support the amount of physical space required to successfully playback large uncompressed sound. This Remastered DVD features the original completely uncompressed audio recording allowing the original true recorded mix to come alive as it was originally intended to be heard in optimum sound quality.
