Description: Up for sale is a pair of JBL L112 speakers from the early 1980s. These are some of the best sounding bookshelf speakers that JBL ever made. These are the civilian versions. The professional versions were used as recording studio monitors back in the day. These speakers were made in California in the early 1980s. They come with the original grills. There is some staining and the fabric is peeling away on some places of the grills. The fabric should probably be redone, if you plan to use them, but at least you will have the original frames. I’ve always use them without the grills on. The speakers have some scratches and chips in wood, but they are in excellent overall. The speaker connection posts have been updated to modern ones so banana plugs can be used. The L112s are better sounding speakers than the famous L 100s, that everyone has heard about and saw in the famous maxell ad. These are extremely good sounding speakers! Very well balanced and detailed. The bass is just right. Lots of thump when you need it and subdued when you don’t. They sound great with any kind of music and can handle up to 300 W of power easily. I love them so much that I own three pairs of them. The only reason that I’m selling this pair is that I don’t have room for them all in my growing collection. I’ve never heard another pair of speakers that sounds as good as these for under $3,000. I have done many blind sound tests with lots of people and compared at least 10 different similar sized speakers and everyone always picks the JBL’s as the best. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed with the sound quality. The stands and cables in the photos are not included in the sale. Local pick up only in Las Vegas, Nevada 89103.
