About the Cauldon Pottery: This Staffordshire Pottery was established in 1905 at Cauldon Place, Shelton, Hanley, following on from a distinguished line of potteries at this site including the famous Ridgway company. In 1920 it was renamed Cauldon Potteries Ltd., adding "Royal" to its mark, and continuing to produce fine quality china and earthenwares until taken over by the Bristol firm of Pountney in 1962.
