Description: Presented is a great pair of antique silver swing handle baskets made in Hanau, Germany. The baskets have a wonderful openwork design covered with hand chased, repoussé birds, flowers, scrolls, bows, and leaves. The center of each basket has a scene of four cherubs picking fruit from a tree. The swing handles are in great working order. The baskets have never been monogrammed or engraved. The baskets were made in the late 1800s or early 1900s. Each basket is stamped on the inside with three Hanau pseudo hallmarks including a number 10, a tree, and the letter A. The basket has been tested and is guaranteed to be at least 800 purity silver. There are a couple little holes to the bottoms of the baskets, but this is only noticeable upon very close inspection. These are not areas of wear, but rather part of the original casting. Since no liquid was ever going to go in these baskets these few small holes in the casting, the bottom of the basket, did not matter. Otherwise, the condition is excellent. There are no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs. The baskets measure 6 1/2 inches by 8 inches by 6 inches tall. The combined weight of both baskets is 669 grams or 23.4 ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
