Crafted in rich detail, this mask is hand painted in traditional black and red colors and decorated with real horse hair. Masks have played an important role in Pacific Northwest Coast native culture. This unique hand carved and hand painted warrior mask artwork combines the Northwest Coast traditional woodworking techniques with traditional native designs and traditional black and red colors to express a contemporary vision of traditional Northwestern Coastal native tribal art. Measures approx. 9 1/2" H x 7" W. Mask is fitted with an attached rubber band for wearing and/or hanging. Piece is unsigned. Artist most likely to be of Haida tribal affiliation.
