Description: Up for sale here is an Ortofon MCA-76 Pre-Preamplifier. Also called a head amp. This amp was used briefly with an MC20 cart and an SL20Q cart, and worked perfectly with both. I decided to go in a different direction with my turntable setups, and am selling off some spare equipment as a result. This is for use with vintage moving coil cartridges to step up the level before a standard phono preamplifier. This was designed to pair with Ortofon cartridges SL20E, MC20, and SL20Q. I am also selling an SL20Q cartridge separately, check my other items if interested. This may pair with other MC cartridges, but make sure to check all specs before attempting. It is unlikely to pair with modern cartridges, as modern MC cartridges have a higher output than the MC cartridges this was designed for.
