Thomas Brown Cornell was born in 1937 and graduated from Amherst College where he studied under Leonard Baskin. He also studied at the Yale Graduate School of Art and Architecture. He was a Professor of Art at Bowdoin College beginning in 1963. Cornell's works are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, Princeton University Library, University of California, and Bowdoin College Museum of Art.
